Allan is a licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S/MHSP) in the state of Tennessee. He is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, Certified by IITAP, the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals.
Allan is the author of six books, Addictive Entrepreneurship dealing with the 13 secrets to a successful life as an entrepreneur and Experiential Group Therapy Interventions with DBT: A 30 day program for treating addict. He co-authored Help Her Heal by Carol Sheets and Ambushed by Betrayal with Michele Saffier. His latest book, Navigating the Phases of Sex Addiction Recovery is available in the book section.
Allan has received additional training in Neuro Linguistic Programming, Trauma Counseling, Emotion Focused Couples Therapy and Experiential Therapy. He is a past member of the American Counseling Association for Specialists in Group Work.
Compared to life coaches, licensed professional counselors have Masters Degrees in counseling which involves six years of college, 2 years of full-time post Master’s Clinical work and supervision, state sanctioned testing for licensure and required continuing education.
