You feel the shame  every day. There is hope and healing

When the Connection Breaks and You Don't Know How to Fix It

Something's changed in your relationship, and you feel it every day.

Maybe there's a distance you can't seem to close. You're living beside someone but feel more alone than ever you were actually alone. The conversations stay surface-level, the intimacy is gone, and you're tired of pretending it's fine.

Maybe you're the one pulling away, escaping into porn or behaviors you don't fully understand, telling yourself it's not a big deal while quietly knowing it's costing you the Intimate connection you crave.

Or maybe you found out something that shattered the trust, a betrayal, and now you're anxious, angry, and unsure whether you want to continue the relationship.

Different pain, same root: the connection is broken, and you don't have to fix it alone.

You're not the only one suffering, and it's not too late to fix it

Here's what almost no one tells you: disconnection, compulsive behavior, and betrayal usually aren't about willpower or a lack of love. They're symptoms of something underneath, old wounds, unmet needs, patterns nobody taught you how to break. And when the shame does creep in, telling you that you're the only one who struggles, that's the lie that keeps you stuck and silent.

You don't have to stay stuck, and you don't have to sort it out by yourself.

Meet Allan J. Katz, Intimacy Coach & Sex Addiction Expert

I'm Allan J. Katz, a licensed counselor (LPC) and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT). For more than a decade I've sat with people exactly where you are, the person pulling away and the partner who feels shut out, and I don't judge any of it. I'm one of the few CSATs in Tennessee and the only one in Memphis who takes insurance, and I've written six books on this subject. What matters to you is simpler: you'll be working with someone who has helped hundreds of people find their way back to connection, trust and intimacy, and knows how to guide you there effectively.

What's waiting on the other side

Right now it feels like secrecy, distance, and walking on eggshells. It doesn't have to stay that way. The people we work with rebuild trust, rediscover themselves, and reestablish intimacy they thought was gone for good, broken to restored, one honest step at a time.

You've carried this alone long enough. The next step is simple, and it stays between us.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work with both individuals and couples?

Yes. I work with individuals struggling with sex or porn addiction, with betrayed partners healing from the trauma of discovery, and with couples rebuilding trust and intimacy together. Treatment is tailored to where you are in the process.

What if I'm not sure it's an addiction, I just feel disconnected?

That's often exactly where people start. You don't need a label or a diagnosis to begin. If you feel distant, stuck, or like something's off in your relationship or your behavior, that's reason enough to reach out and figure it out together.

Is counseling confidential?

Yes. Everything you share is confidential and handled according to professional ethical and legal standards. This is a non-judgmental space built for honesty.

Do you take insurance?

Yes. I'm the only Certified Sex Addiction Therapist in Memphis who accepts insurance, and one of the few in Tennessee and New Jersey. Insurance and rate questions can be sorted out during your free consultation.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. I see clients in person in Memphis and provide secure telehealth throughout Tennessee and New Jersey, wherever you are and whatever fits your life.
